1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the VibeCap application for iPhone and Mac, the VibeCap website, and related support services operated by Defung Labs (“VibeCap,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).
Short version: VibeCap does not upload your full video file to VibeCap servers. Extracted audio is sent for caption processing. If device sync is enabled, a video backup can be stored in your private iCloud container.
2. Information we process
Account information
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we process an account identifier, authentication status, and information supplied by the sign-in provider, such as an email address. Authentication is provided through Firebase Authentication.
Audio, captions, and project content
- VibeCap extracts an audio track from a video on your device and sends that audio for speech-to-text processing.
- The resulting transcript, word timing, selected language, translation choice, caption styling, and related project metadata may be stored to provide editing and sync.
- Your full source video is not uploaded to VibeCap servers. A backup may be stored through CloudKit in the private iCloud container associated with your Apple account.
- Custom style groups, Brand Kit information, logos, fonts, and other files you choose may be stored locally, in your private iCloud storage, or through VibeCap sync depending on the feature.
Purchase information
Apple processes payment details. VibeCap and RevenueCat receive subscription status, product, transaction identifiers, purchase history, and entitlement information needed to unlock paid features and restore purchases. VibeCap does not receive your full payment-card information.
Usage, device, and diagnostics
We may process app interactions, feature usage, app version, device and operating-system information, language, time zone, IP address, performance data, push-notification token, and error information. We use this data to operate, secure, understand, and improve VibeCap. VibeCap does not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising tracking.
Support and feedback
If you contact support or submit feedback, we process your message, contact details, attachments, and information needed to respond.
Website data
This promotional website does not use advertising cookies. Standard hosting logs may include IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamp, and security information.
3. How we use information
- Authenticate accounts and keep sessions secure.
- Create, translate, edit, export, back up, and sync captions and projects.
- Manage free usage limits, subscriptions, purchases, and restoration.
- Send service notifications when enabled.
- Prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and protect VibeCap infrastructure.
- Measure product use and improve features, reliability, and accessibility.
- Answer support requests and comply with legal obligations.
4. Service providers and disclosure
We disclose information only as needed to operate VibeCap, comply with law, or protect rights and safety. Providers may include:
- Apple for Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, push notifications, and CloudKit/iCloud storage.
- Google Firebase for authentication, analytics, and cloud messaging.
- RevenueCat for subscription and entitlement management.
- Speech and language processing providers used by VibeCap’s server to produce transcripts and translations.
- Infrastructure and hosting providers used to operate APIs, secure traffic, and deliver this website.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments. Relevant resources include Firebase Privacy and Security, RevenueCat Privacy, and Apple Privacy.
We may disclose information if required by valid legal process, during a corporate transaction subject to appropriate safeguards, or to investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
5. Storage, security, and retention
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information in transit and at rest. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Account, project, subscription, and sync records are retained while your account is active and as needed to provide VibeCap. Audio submitted for transcription is retained only as needed for processing, reliability, abuse prevention, and provider obligations. Support records and security logs may be retained for a reasonable period. Legal, tax, dispute, and fraud-prevention requirements may require longer retention.
Deleting local media removes the device copy but may not remove a private iCloud backup, synced project metadata, or records required for legal and security purposes. Contact us to request account-level deletion.
6. Your choices and rights
- Control Photos, notifications, iCloud, and other permissions in Apple System Settings.
- Disable analytics or personalized options where an in-app control is available.
- Cancel subscriptions in your Apple account subscription settings.
- Request access, correction, export, objection, restriction, or deletion where applicable law provides these rights.
- Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing.
Send privacy requests to vibecap@defunglabs.com. We may need to verify your account before acting. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
7. Children
VibeCap is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum digital-consent age in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without legally valid permission. Contact us if you believe a child provided information improperly.
8. International processing
VibeCap and its providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we use recognized transfer mechanisms and safeguards. Local laws in those countries may differ from those where you live.
9. Changes
We may update this policy when VibeCap, providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised version here and change the effective date. Material changes may also be announced in the app.
